The Protagonist, a DH/ENDURO tyre designed for maximum grip and cornering confidence. Our V-design tread pattern encourages smooth directional changes through a varying level of cornering support. This unique characteristic creates an informative feeling of grip levels as you transfer through lean angles, promoting feel and confidence while finding the limits. Generous spacing between the tyres knobs improves mechanical grip, while clearing mud.
The Protagonist excels in mixed weather conditions and over a variety of terrain, it features an aggressive tread to preserve grip whilst providing predictable breakaway characteristics and offers confidence inspiring handling.
Ramped pockets preserve strength on the outer gripping edge, maximising side knob grip and support, whilst the V-design knob layout creates stability throughout cornering lean angles enhancing rider feel. Smart Evo DH is the most advanced Pirelli compound for gravity applications: developed with motorsport expertise and materials, this formulation maximizes grip, damping and predictability.
HardWall Enduro Carcass: 1-ply 60 tpi, plus bead to bead protection, TLR. Enduro specific casing. The perfect balance between weight & protection. Reinforced with a hard rubber insert on the bead for greater support & stability at low inflation pressures
Riding characteristics:
- Both versions of the Protagonist offer a high level of Mechanical and Chemical grip. DualWall offers greater protection and damping, whilst sacrificing a little speed and weight, compared to the HardWALL version that offers a more balanced all round performance.
- The Antagonist in DualWall offers the same increased protection and damping characteristics as the Protagonist, in a faster rolling package with added cornering confidence
